ACT ONE
Born December 22, 1966 in Fort Pierce, Florida to James and Ernestine Mitchell, the youngest of six siblings. As an infant, we moved to Washington, D.C., then onto Detroit, Michigan by age 5. Being raised on the southwest side of Detroit, it gave me a very strong sense of self, Black pride, strength, drive, determination and fearlessness. Aside from my Mom, I often credit the Boys Club with keeping me away from trouble, developing my athletic abilities and introducing me to the arts. We returned to my birthplace at age 13. It was there that I formed new lifelong friendships, smoothed my rough edges and began to dream of entrepreneurship. I spent my summer months in Washington, D.C., working with my Dad. He showed me what it means to work hard and to believe that anything was possible. These many experiences provided me with a solid foundation.
ACT TWO
I moved to Atlanta in 1985 for college. After a successful career in the corporate and non-profit sectors, I bet on myself in 2003 and founded GM Legacy Group. Soon after, I launched a Media & Marketing consulting division. In 2011, I acquired an advertising franchise and sold it in 2016. I have traveled the world, met world leaders and have a powerful network of friends, colleagues, and associates across the globe.
ACT THREE
On November 12, 2016, I bet on myself again. I made a conscious decision to pursue my very first dream. As a child, I privately dreamed of one day being a movie star. But, I didn't believe it were possible for a kid from the streets of Detroit. Just 4 days later, I landed as an extra, on the set of my favorite TV series; "Greenleaf". On my 4th day, they pulled me to fill in for Keith David’s sick stand-in. By days end, I was offered the position full-time. That gave me the access needed to learn the business. I was a sponge for the next 3 years. Keith David, Lynn Whitfield, Lamman Rucker, Sean Blakemore, our DP and several directors became my acting coaches and friends. Visible growth and impressive 2nd team rehearsals, resulted in me booking a role on the series as Calvary Fellowship's "Employee #1". I have not stopped working since. I’ve booked short films, student films indie projects and co-wrote a short of our own. My first leading role in a feature was "Behind Closed Doors", as the antagonist, Pastor Gerald Scott. I now have more than 15 Film, Television and Commercial credits.
